Location:  Remote (with regular travel to head office in West Cumbria)

Delkia is an expanding SME based in West Cumbria.  We are currently seeking a Capability Development Officer to join our team.  
 
We’re proud of our reputation for delivering safe, high quality projects, on time and on budget, across the Defence and Nuclear Sector, we serve as an intelligent multi-disciplinary Systems Integration (SI) Engineering and Technology organisation.  
 
We have an excellent opportunity for a Capability Development Officer to join our team, based at Egremont, West Cumbria. You will join a dynamic team at Delkia reporting directly to the management team.  The role will be remote, with regular travel to our head office in Egremont, West Cumbria.  
 
Overview of the role
 
The Capability Development Officer will work alongside Delkia’s project, business support and human resources functions supporting in all aspects of competence, HR and development of the Delkia team.
 
Key responsibilities
 
The main responsibilities of the Capability Development Officer include:
  • Creating and administering SQEP packs
  • Developing and completing inductions for staff and consultants
  • Staff development including supporting with CPD and DPDs
  • Managing contracts (both staff and consultant)
  • Supporting with Delkia’s human resources
  • Updating and maintain Delkia’s Skills Matrix
  • Aligning skills development with Delkia’s Strategic Objectives
  • Providing internal and external care
  • Assisting with company resourcing and recruitment
 
Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:
  • CIPD Member
  • 5 years minimum experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and written skills
  • Professional code of conduct both during and outside of working hours
  • Proactive with a keen eye for detail and opportunity
  • Strong IT skills (specifically Microsoft Office)
  • A good team player with the ability to work autonomously
  • Excellent multitasking
  • Be willing to travel infrequently when required to support business functions
  • Be client and solution focused with focus on confidentiality.
 
Candidates must be a British National and be able to meet security clearance.  Additional Psychometric testing may also be carried out with full background checks.
