This contract was placed through NG Bailey, the control system was destined for a nuclear waste repository site.
The scopeincluded: -
Review, revise and prepare panel layout drawings for sewage treatment plant pump Control Panels
To supply and manufacture sewage treatment plant pump Control Panels to CQR 03
To produce commissioning test documentation
To carry out Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for pump Control Panels with the client and end consumer in attendance at our facility
Provide supporting documentation including Inspection and test plan, Certificates of Conformity for components
Produce lifetime record
The unexpected issues and our solution: During the review, we identified a number of areas of non-compliance with the relevant Engineering Standard. We raised our concerns and were requested to carry out additional modifications to the design package. Our CE&I department carried out the changes and returned the designs to the client in the required time scale. These changes were approved, enabling us to proceed with the manufacture of the panels.
The part we were most pleased with: The FAT Testing was carried out at our facility with our client and the end consumer in attendance. The FAT testing included a 100% dead test and 100% Live of each control panel. This was followed by the functional test to ensure that the end consumer had confidence that the system would function as a whole once installed.
"We were particular impressed with their innovative approach and attention to detail from design, material development and assembly processes, equally so was our end-clients”.
