This contract was placed with us through NSG Environmental for a nuclear waste repository site.
The scope was to provide the following: -
Review, revise both electrical and mechanical drawings and prepare panel layout drawings
Supply and manufacture effluent tank control panel as per issued drawings to CQR 03
Commissioning test documentation
Detailed design of tank level indication panel
Supply and manufacture tank level indication panel to CQR 03
To supply field instrumentation from endress & hauser as per issued the end clients equipment datasheets
Supply equipment for functional test
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with NSG environmental and then end client in attendance at our facility.
Provide supporting documentation including Quality Plan, Certificates of Conformity for components, LTQR File and CE Marking
The Control Panel shall be CE marked in accordance with relevant EU directives.
The challenges and our solutions: We identified a number of non-compliances against Engineering Standard ES_1_2322_1 Issue 2 and ES_1_7273_1 Issue 2. We raised these and our solutions to ensure that the end control panel was compliant.
The parts we were most pleased with: The documents produced by our CE&I department were completed and accepted by both our client and the end client prior to the FAT testing. This included: -
Works test documents (internal document)
Dead Works FAT Test documents
Live Works FAT Test documents
Functional test documents
The FAT Testing was carried out at our facility in Cleator Moor with both NSG environmental and the end client in attendance. The tests included a 100% dead test and 100% live of each panel, as well as a functional test. We were able to demonstrate a full end to end test proving the functionality met the site requirements and enabled instrumentation parameters to be set-up.
