Delkia is an expanding SME based in West Cumbria. We arecurrently seeking a part-time Finance Manager to join our management team.

Expertise The Finance Manager (FM) will oversee all aspects of finances for the business reporting directly to the Managing Director. The FM will be accountable for the financial health of the business. This will include providing monthly reports on business, independent approvals and sanctions for spend, input into business forecasting and planning as well as strategy development for a small but growing SME.
The successful candidate will be meticulous, methodical and analytical. The FM will understand the importance of confidentiality, ensuring the company and client information security is upheld. The FM will be a member of ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) or similar. They must have an excellent grasp of numbers, be highly professional and appreciate the workings of a small and ambitious company. Previous project delivery experience in the Engineering / Technical sector is essential.
The FM role will include:
Daily reporting and account reconciliation utilising company accounting software
Managing business and project accounting demands
Analysing targets and working towards company objectives
Meeting and working with department heads
Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting and forecast processes
Providing back-office services such as accounts payable, collection and payroll
Monitoring cash flow
Independent approval of project spending and supplier sanctions
Client Invoicing and bad debt management
Providing insights on the financial health of the organisation to the MD
Ensuring the business meets all its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues
Keeping track of market trends
Looking for cost-reduction opportunities
Assist in the attraction of growth funding
Developing relationships with external contacts such as auditors, solicitors and HM Revenue & Customs
Enthusiastic to be part of a small and successful company, with an ambitious strategy for growth
Skills and Qualifications
At least 10 years' experience in a similar role
Ideally, degree qualified
A member of ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) or similar
Outstanding communication skills with sound business-related knowledge
Self-starter and self-motivated
Ability to support colleagues at all levels effectively and professionally even when presented with challenging circumstances
Excellent presentation skills
Understand the importance of reporting on ageing debt, ageing receivables, project control interfaces, liquidity, reconciliation, nominals, asset registering, stock accuracy, fiscal asset management and gearing
Candidates must be a British National and be able to meet security clearance. Additional Psychometric testing may also be carried out with full background checks.
