Controls, an advanced manufacturer specialist in Panel Building and System Integration, has won a key nuclear contract to local powerhouse NG Bailey. iControls successfully branched out of the multiple-awarding engineering design and consultancy company Safety Critical in 2014.
iControls have invested close to £500k over the last 12 months to make this cutting-edge advanced manufacturing facility, which is starting to become a leader in semi-automated processing for Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (E, C&I) panel building and system integration.
Martyn Black, General Manager, heading up the company, said, “This is a great success for the company. We have invested a significant amount of time and money to develop this facility and ensure quality and excellence of service.” He added we are very familiar with the onerous requirements in highly regulated industries, specifically Nuclear. iControls have undergone various quality audits from clients including the Site License Company LLWR as well as key advanced manufacturing research centers. Martyn went on to say, “It’s vital that our clients have the confidence that the supply chain can deliver with the right quality. We knew this was important and have developed all our systems around this, focusing on the LTQR packs, traceability, obsolescence and speed of delivery through automation and innovation.”
NG Bailey, the largest independent Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Company in the UK, awarded the contract under best athlete and value for money to iControls, who were equally delighted. Julian Dorgan, Operations Manager, stated, “we totally value the capability in the local supply chain and are very pleased that iControls have been successfully awarded this contract as key part of our assessed supply chain. We were particular impressed with their innovative approach and attention to detail from design, material development and assembly processes, equally so was our end-clients”.
LLWR’s Head of Commercial, Jonathon Evans, said “LLWR are pleased that NG Bailey have placed this contract with iControls, as a local SME, who will now have the opportunity to show the value they can bring to our supply chain. At LLWR we are committed to providing opportunities for smaller companies either directly or, as in this case, through our suppliers. We take this commitment very seriously and seek to work with suppliers that share our vision and values. This contract award is excellent news for both companies and a great demonstration of what we aim to achieve”.
iControls will deliver various panels, documentation and provide full testing capabilities for these work packages.
The new Group Director, Kurt Canfield, stated, “this is a major step forward for iControls and their efforts are starting to payoff. This is a company to watch, not only for their innovation around manufacturing but also for their growth.”
iControls are soon to release their date for an Open Day, expected to be early September / October 2015.
