Delkia is a specialist Systems Integrator operating throughout the UK and Internationally for safety-related and mission-critical systems in highly regulated sectors, including aerospace, clean energy and maritime.

Delkia are looking to grow its Mission Systems and Avionics capabilities to meet the demands of new and existing partnerships. As such we can offer a wide range of exciting opportunities for experienced Systems Engineers (both permanent staff and sub-contract) across the Mission & Avionic System Lifecycle, including System Architecting, Requirements Management, System/Subsystem/Equipment Specification and detail design, Supplier Management, System Test, Qualification/Certification.


Overview of the role

We are looking to recruit against several roles within the Avionic Systems team. Candidates will be required to obtain security clearance and to work on site in Lancashire for 4-5 days per week.



Key responsibilities

We are looking to recruit against several specialist Avionic roles including:


Cockpit Design

• Human Machine Interface (HMI) Design experience

• Requirements analysis and Design Definition

• Advising on In-Service Fault Investigations and Queries

• Design maintenance (Display Moding, Formats & Datasheets)

• Production of design Qualification evidence to support certification.

• Safety & Human Factors Analysis

• Supporting Process Improvement


Avionic Systems Concepts

• System Architecture & Design Concepts against requirements

• System Level Functional Design

• System Requirements traceability, Analysis & Interfaces

• Advising on In-Service Fault Investigations and Queries

• Supporting Process Improvement


Avionic Systems Design

• Sub-System Architecture against requirements

• Sub-System Level Functional Design

• Sub-System Requirements traceability, Analysis & Interfaces

• Support Sub-System Product Management & Product Configuration activity.

• Sub-system Functional Design, Interfaces including Safety, Environmental and Security

• Supporting Process Improvement

• Advising on In-Service Fault Investigations and Queries


Avionic Systems Integration & Test Engineering

• Test Definition & Analysis

• System Problem Report (SPR) Management & Analysis

• System Safety Engineering

• Product Qualification to support Verification.

• Supporting Process Improvement

• In Service Support query answering and reviewing


Software Subsystem Detail Design

• Software Design Definition including Sequencing & Algorithms

• Software Hazard Analysis

• In Service Support query answering and reviewing

• System Problem Report (SPR) Management, Analysis & rectification



Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:

  • Engineering Degree qualified or equivalent.

  • Experience in avionic systems engineering domain.

  • Experience in one or more of following tools & methods: Dimensions CM (PCMS), DOORS, Trilogi-View, Visual Studio, Fault Tree+, Hazard Analysis, PLM Teamcenter, Statemate, Jira, Reliability Workbench.

  • Expertise in the principles and application of ARP 4754, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-200, RTCA DO-254, and RTCA DO-330 or Equivalents

  • An in-depth understanding of the full product lifecycle of programmes particularly for the UK MoD and the MoD customer acquisition processes.

  • Broad systems engineering lifecycle knowledge (ISO15288.1) and application of associated Technical Reviews.

  • Understanding of the MAA Regulatory Environment and MACP

  • Familiar with avionic supply chains and capabilities

  • Dedication to quality, configuration, reliability, security and safety with a data and evidence driven mindset.

  • SC Clearance or ability to attain.

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), and CAD / PLM / ERP literacy
