We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an experienced Electronics Hardware Engineer to join our dynamic team at Delkia.


Overview of the role


The Electronics Hardware Engineer will develop and regularly review new electronic designs for control and imaging detection systems within the aerospace, defence, and maritime and clean energy sectors, as well as supporting on internal research and development projects. You will play a key role in ensuring designs meet safety and environmental regulations and best practice.


The Electronics Hardware Engineer will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop engineering practices that meet business needs across the organisation, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, manage and develop teams, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business technical strategy for simple and complex systems.



Key responsibilities

  • Demonstrable knowledge of electronic hardware architecture and design principles particularly around Microprocessors and Power supply design

  • Direct management of SQEP and team discipline from a skillset perspective

  • Provide an exceptional customer service

  • Monitor compliance of designs against system / subsystem derived and allocated requirements.

  • Satisfy the requirement set through design and development activities.

  • Define the Hardware Test and Acceptance Specifications.

  • Offering innovative hardware solutions to technical challenges, fulfilling requirements


Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites


  • Experience in delivering solutions in accordance with customer needs

  • Extensive experience in sector

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ideally a degree qualified or equivalent (desirable)

  • Ideally a Member of Professional Association (desirable)

  • Experience of printed circuit design principles

  • Experienced in CAD systems for schematic entry and PCB layout. (e.g. Cadence Allegro tools, Autodesk Eagle and PSpice)

  • Experience of reverse engineering preferable

  • Working knowledge of FPGA, PLDs, SoC design and verification for embedded systems applications

  • A good understanding of regulatory requirements for aerospace complex hardware design

  • Ideally knowledge of complex systems and power supply designs, being cognisant of new technologies but also older obsolescence challenges (ideally gained in a maritime, avionics or similar environment)

  • Ideally demonstrable knowledge of the principles of electronic hardware testing and diagnostics and test case development
