We have an exciting opportunity to appoint several experienced Product Safety Engineers to join our dynamic team at Delkia.
Overview of the role
We are looking for Product Safety professionals to support the expansion of our Safety Engineering team. We are open to applications for Permanent and Contract (Inside IR35) positions.
The Safety Engineering team supports a broad range of high-complexity, safety-critical and highly regulated projects, both internal and external, covering the whole project lifecycle.
For Permanent applications, we are looking for individuals that will support our mission, live and breathe our values, provide strategic support and coach more junior Safety Engineers.
For Contract applications, we are looking for highly skilled and highly motivated individuals, who share our values, to join our pool of valued associates. Available roles will vary based on client demand and projects in progress.
Key responsibilities
Dependent on position:
Lead and undertake safety analyses within the scope of the clients Safety Management Systems.
Liaise with project stakeholders of all levels throughout the development lifecycle.
Identify and create evidence to support system assurance, using safety related activities to support the traceability of system safety requirements, to implementation and operation.
Perform hazard analysis to define safety requirements and detailed systems analysis, to demonstrate that safety requirements can be met.
Develop safety arguments and safety cases to support assurance and certification activities, including identification of appropriate evidence to show safety arguments are reasonable, well-constructed and justified.
Provide support and advice clients with specification, development or delivery of their safety case programmes.
Provide support to the Safety Capability Lead and other members of the leadership team with tendering and bid preparation activities.
Provide strategic support to the Safety Capability Lead and other Technical Leads with the development of company safety management and engineering practices.
Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to more junior members of the team.
Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites
A degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or other engineering-related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Chartered Engineer with a relevant institution, or aiming for achieving Chartership in the next 12 months.
Safety engineering experience in a highly regulated domain e.g. Aviation, Maritime, Nuclear.
Experience in leading and/or mentoring teams of Safety Engineers.
Experience with industry safety standards e.g. Def Stan 00-056, Mil-Std-882E, DO-178C, DO-254, ARP 4754/4761 etc.
Expertise to lead development of safety analyses, safety assessments, safety arguments and safety cases.
