​Delkia is currently seeking a Lead Requirements Engineer - Subject Matter Expert.

Overview of the role:

The Lead Requirements Engineer (LRE) will act as the overarching company subject matter expert for requirements capture and management, and train future engineers and graduates in complex control systems. Reporting to the Engineering Manager(s) and Project Manager(s) the LRE will support programme and project completion for requirements capture and management work within the company. Growing a team of engineers organically through inward investment to the company. They will be an expert in field technically and be willing to develop and manage small specialist teams.

Key responsibilities:

The role will be to act as the company’s lead requirements management engineer and support the development of future capability of requirements management engineers. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop forward strategy for requirements capture and management investment and training.

  • Support ongoing projects as LRE.

  • Act as Design Authority for all requirements projects.

  • Act as the company representative and main contract for software licensing / renewals.

  • Act as the company subject matter expert for requirements capture, management and training.

  • Work with other engineering capabilities and research and development leads for both internal and external projects.

  • Provide technical consultancy to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Provide input into technical company strategy and R&D programme(s).

Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:

  • Support the requirements capture process, rationalisation, succinctness and use case management within simple and complex systems architectural designs.

  • Extensive experience using Rational DOORS, Enterprise Architect Sparx, or similar.

  • Excellent understanding of configuration management and item control.

  • Be able to manage multi-level requirements and maintain traceability.

  • Lead and facilitate requirements workshops with project stakeholders.

  • Support integration leads for succinctness of requirements as part of validation and verification phases.

  • Understanding of lifecycle management of requirements in complex control systems and programmes.

  • Ability to contextualise requirements (and level of fidelities) into useable executable systems requirements.

  • Understanding of derived and safety requirements processes.

  • Systems and sub-systems requirements integration to meet architectural specifications.

  • At least 10 years' experience in a modelling role.

  • Degree qualified.

  • A master’s degree in systems engineering (or similar) would be preferable.

  • Chartered status through the IET.

  • Outstanding communication skills with sound business related knowledge.

  • Ability to support colleagues at all levels effectively and professionally even when presented with extreme circumstances.

Candidates must be a British National and be able to meet security clearance. Additional psychometric testing may also be carried out with full background checks.
