We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an experienced Principal Air Systems Security Engineer to join our dynamic team at Delkia.

 

Overview of the role

We are seeking an experienced engineer in product security to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in multiple aspects of physical and cyber security across air platforms through life. This includes secure by design functions including Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) Regulations. Knowledge of Security Management Systems with a strong background in practical implementation of security practices particularly in Cyber security. In addition, the development of capability and architecting of the security environment is desirable in terms of people, processes, toolsets, training and information flows. The candidate should be conversant with various industry standards e.g. Def Stan 00-138, Def Stan 00-139, JSP 440, DO-355 & DO 356 and their implementation on engineering projects. This role requires a professional chartered with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the product security management implementation on project.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on own areas of expertise and develop own and others knowledge and experience to develop the capability.

  • Implement and influence the company Security Culture and champion the Security ethos.

  • Support internal and client capability in line with model based, digitisation and secure by design strategies.

  • Integrate with safety regime to demonstrate controls on product / service security aspects.

  • Guide engineering teams on the integration of requirements into security management system

  • Provide day to day governance in alignment with industry and client standards and practices.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and project teams to address security engineering queries and ensure that security considerations are integrated throughout project lifecycles.

  • Remain current of industry developments in security engineering and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization and wider industry.

  • Mentor engineers across the discipline and wider engineering teams and contribute to their professional development as well as their own.

 

Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Systems / Security Engineering, or a related field.

  • Chartered Engineer status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or equivalent.

  • Demonstrable experience in product security Management, with a focus on the early lifecycle startup and implementation of Security management systems including cyber security.

  • Deep understanding of Industry related standards for security management within the aerospace sector.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide, mentor and develop teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to Security management.

  • Flexibility to adapt to different sectors and work environments.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in other relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., ARP 4754 / 4761, DO 254, DO-178C).

  • Experience of cyber testing practices to inform, the route to certification of the Air System

  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role as a Product Security Manager.
