We have an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic Programme Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team at Delkia.


Overview of the role

The Programme Engineering Manager will be a pivotal role within our organization, focusing on engineering and technical delivery, client engagement, and ensuring alignment with business unit goals and market focuses. This role requires a deep understanding of domain standards, particularly in maritime defence or similar complex technical domains.


Department: Maritime Business Unit

Reports To: Business Unit Director with a dotted-line reporting to the Engineering and Technical Director


Key responsibilities

1. Engineering and Technical Delivery:

  • Lead multiple projects, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to engineering and domain standards and practices.

  • Provide expert engineering methodologies and best practices.

  • Ensure projects align with the latest technological advancements and industry standards.

2. Client Engagement and Focus:

  • Act as a primary engineering point of contact for clients.

  • Understand client needs and translate them into actionable engineering deliverables.

  • Foster strong relationships with clients to ensure ongoing engagement and satisfaction.

3. Business Unit and Market Focus:

  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to align engineering projects with market demands and business strategies.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, particularly in the Maritime sector, to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Contribute to the development of long-term business unit goals from an engineering perspective.

4. Project Management and Delivery:

  • Oversee the successful delivery of engineering activities in alignment with the project costs and schedule.

  • Ensure high-quality deliverables and adherence to project scopes.

  • Responsible for leading engineer bid review to inform bid / no bid activities.

  • Leading Engineering Maturity Reviews (Design / Production) ensuring programmes meet entry and exit gates.

5. Governance and Assurance:

  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Technical Director for governance and assurance.

  • Implement and maintain robust engineering and technical delivery governance structures and processes.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, local domain, standards and codes for excellent engineering and technical compliance.


Desired Qualifications / Prerequisites:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on engineering management and client engagement.

  • Strong understanding of the Maritime industry or a similar complex technical domain.

  • Excellent resource and capability management skills, with a proven track record of managing multi-discipline engineering teams to deliver complex scopes on time and cost.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, capable of managing diverse teams and engaging with high-profile clients.
