Kurt Canfield, Delkia CEO, speaks at Place North West event

Delkia’s CEO, Kurt Canfield, joined a discussion panel at the Place North West Cumbria Development Update 2026 on 18 June in Kendal.

The discussion covered investment, devolution, skills, housing, infrastructure and the opportunities ahead for Cumbria. What stood out throughout the day was a shared belief that our greatest challenge — and our greatest opportunity — is creating a compelling place where people want to live, work, invest and build careers.

Kurt reflected on the journeys of both Delkia and Jennings Brewery, where he serves as Chairman and co-owner alongside Rebecca Canfield. Although operating in very different industries, he highlighted how both organisations exemplify the impact of ambition, investment in people and communities, and a shared confidence in Cumbria’s future.
