Delkia's female staff was at Cockermouth School this week part of 'World of Work Day'!
Not only raising the awareness of Automation and Power Engineering for secondary schools but our own ambassador for STEM and Women in Engineering. Delkia workforce stated "It was great honour to be asked to be part of the Cockermouth School World of Work Day. Our role was to perform mock interviews with a number of students. . We found it quite a humbling experience to spend time with these young people and to hear about their dreams and aspirations and for them to openly share and trust me with their innermost thoughts.

We was very impressed by the high levels of confidence displayed and the intelligent and professional way they were able to express themselves during the interviews.
The general conduct of the whole school which we observed from our initial welcome at Reception, whilst moving from room to room, up and down corridors, and during lunch in the open dining area (not to mention the delicious lunch) was excellent and we think that the Head Teacher, Staff and Pupils should all be really proud of themselves. To summarise we were very impressed by the young people we met on the day and we are sure they will go far in the ‘world of work’"
Delkia have supported a number of Cumbrian Schools and continue to do so to raise the awareness and importance of future engineering, as early as Primary School. This is part of their company values because they see the benefits in the future through our efforts today.
